Description of the Course Materials
The series of exercises assigned in the ten units/themes of Bac exam preparation aim to:
- Revise the themes, vocabulary, structures, and writing topics that are recurrent in the Bac exams
- Give the students the opportunities to practice through multimedia materials and receive instant feedback to remedy their challenges
- Give the students opportunities to learn together through interactions online
- Keep the students active during the synchronous classes.
The units in this course should be thematically organized: ten themes are to be covered in this course.
Each theme contains self-learning activities which are generally automatically scored. By doing so, the learners will observe their progress and hopefully overcome their challenges.
The contents of the following items are selected from previous exams of the Baccalaureate and other materials developed in Morocco:
- Vocabulary (activities to elicit the target vocabulary: image, video, PPT, etc.)
- Reading texts and comprehension questions. Preferably, boosting some reading strategies. Two texts are required: one which remains as is and another in which the exercises can be automatically corrected (see the different types of activities below the table, see below)
- Language (a variety of tasks that can be automatically corrected, see below the table)
- Functions (see the table below)
- Writing: Topics of writing must be personal and appeal to the learner’s interests. Writing is assigned in three stages: a stage of brainstorming, then a stage of collaborative learning (general topic), and then an assignment which will be corrected according to the rubrics that are used in the Baccalaureate exam. The rubrics must be provided for each writing task, though they can be categorised according to genres (narrative, descriptive, argumentative, etc.) and customised according to the topic at hand. Three types of rubrics: narrative, argumentative, and descriptive
